Are my files really not uploaded anywhere?
Correct. Every tool on DSPDF runs entirely inside your browser. Your file is read using the browser's built-in FileReader API and processed with JavaScript libraries like pdf-lib and pdf.js. Nothing is sent to a server. You can verify this by opening your browser's DevTools → Network tab while using a tool — you'll see no outgoing file transfers.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There is no sign-up, no login, no email required. Just open a tool and drop your file in.
Is DSPDF free?
Yes — every tool is free to use. If ads are enabled later, they help cover hosting and development time, but they will never interfere with the tool itself.
Can I use this on my phone?
Yes. DSPDF is built mobile-first and works on modern Android and iOS browsers. Larger files process more slowly on phones, but everything works.
What's the maximum file size?
It depends on your device's RAM, not on us — since we don't upload anything. As a rule of thumb, most laptops handle 100 MB PDFs comfortably; older phones may struggle above 30–40 MB.
Does the PDF Editor let me edit existing text?
No — and we're upfront about that. Editing existing PDF text in a browser is technically not feasible with current open-source libraries. Our editor lets you add new text, images, shapes, signatures, and annotations on top of your PDF. See the editor page for details.
