The information and tools provided by DSPDF are for general informational and utility purposes only. While we aim to make every tool accurate and reliable, we make no representation or warranty of any kind, express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability, or availability of the tools or the output they produce.
Any reliance you place on the output of DSPDF tools is strictly at your own risk.
2. No professional advice
Nothing on DSPDF constitutes legal, financial, medical, accounting, or other professional advice. Blog articles and tool documentation describe general practices and technical details — they are not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Specific examples:
- Signature tools. Our signature tools produce visual signatures, not cryptographic digital signatures. Whether a visual signature is legally valid for a particular document depends on your jurisdiction and the receiving party. Consult a lawyer for anything that matters.
- Redaction tools. Redaction is a legally sensitive operation. Misunderstanding what "redaction" does can have serious consequences. Our tool explains the limits on its own page — please read them.
- Encryption tools. Password protection is not the same as legal confidentiality. Documents that need to be legally protected may require specific formats and processes we do not provide.
3. Output accuracy
PDF operations can produce unexpected results due to quirks in the PDF format, bugs in underlying libraries, or unusual input files. We work hard to prevent this, but we cannot guarantee perfection.
Before relying on any output:
- Open the file and inspect it visually.
- Check that pages, content, and metadata are as expected.
- Keep a copy of the original file until you've confirmed the output.
- Test with a non-critical file first if you're unsure.
4. Compression and quality loss
File compression is inherently lossy. Compressing a PDF may reduce image quality, convert text to images, and remove metadata. This is documented on the relevant tool pages, but please take it seriously: compressed output cannot be restored to original quality.
Always keep your original file.
5. Third-party links
DSPDF may contain links to external websites. We do not control the content of those websites and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or availability.
Links to external sites do not imply endorsement.
6. External services and CDNs
DSPDF loads open-source libraries from third-party CDNs (Cloudflare, jsDelivr, unpkg) and web fonts from Google Fonts. If any of these services become unavailable, some tools may not function. This is outside our control and not a warrantable defect.
7. Legal and regulatory use
Some jurisdictions have specific rules about electronic signatures, document retention, personal data handling, and financial record-keeping. DSPDF does not claim compliance with any of these regulatory frameworks.
If your use of DSPDF is subject to specific regulations (for example, HIPAA, GDPR, PCI DSS, or industry-specific rules), it is your responsibility to ensure that your use complies. DSPDF may not meet the requirements of some regulated environments.
8. Bugs and known limitations
We document known limitations on each tool page. Common ones across the site include:
- Bookmarks and form fields are not preserved by merge and split tools.
- Existing PDF text cannot be edited in-browser — only new content can be added.
- Only standard PDF fonts are supported by text tools; custom fonts are on the roadmap.
- Encryption uses whatever algorithm the underlying client-side library supports; we do not guarantee AES-256.
- OCR accuracy varies significantly by input quality; specific accuracy claims are on the OCR page.
